For me:

Operating Instructions by Anne Lamott

This book has been on my list for the last year and a half – since I became a mom – and finally on my weekend getaway I read it practically cover to cover on my flight alone. Lamott’s writing is so relatable, so real, and despite its dark moments, so hilarious. It was particularly fun reading about her son’s first year of life soon after my son celebrated his own first birthday, reminiscing on each stage that already feels like just yesterday and yet so long ago!

For the Kids:

That’s Not My Otter

I’m late to the Usborne bandwagon, but now Gus and I are both fans of the “That’s Not My…” series. From the shiny nose to the scratchy paws and fluffy tummy, this sensory book is so fun for curious babies and toddlers, and any book with cute otters is a win for me too.
